In the heart of Riverton lies a little neighborhood filled with not-so-little homes. One of those homes features an absolutely stunning stone blend that we just couldn’t wait to share with you. This three way blend, filled with rich and varied neutral tones of squares and rectangles paired with a special grouting style and color is both unique and is now becoming highly desired. The blend adds the perfect amount of color variation, texture, pattern, and style to this home exterior. And as you can see below, the three stones in the blend are beautiful by themselves and even more so when combined.
The stone on this home was applied with an over-grout mortar joint for their stone which means the width of the mortar joint was slightly wider and almost completely flush with the face of the stone. This particular style of grouting gives an older, vintaged look that is most commonly sought after with European Influence, Farmhouse, and other Old-World style homes.
Elegantly paired with darker trim and roofing to pull out the deeper, darker charcoal colors in the stone, as well as lighter warmer neutral accessories, like stone sills, to accent the lighter warmer and warmer neutral tones in the stone.
These homeowners chose a lighter colored mortar for this home, but there are so many other mortar color options to choose from and may we not forget how much of a difference mortar color makes. So if you’re considering this stone blend, consider doing a mortar that best ties in the colors in your other main body textures, like siding, hardie, stucco, etc.
