Taupe (pronunciation: /ˈtoʊp/ TOHP), otherwise known as gray-beige-brown, is a cool tan color in-between brown and gray.

You heard that correctly. We are saying farewell to the grays and hello to the taupes. Why you ask? Because there is a circle of life when it comes to exterior design in Utah, and it goes like this: brown >> gray >> taupe >> brown. Of course we see some differentiation now and again with some people branching out into more vibrant colors or all white traditional and farmhouse styles. And of course neutrals are always in and trends don’t always matter. But there is undoubtedly a cycle of trends; old becomes new and new becomes old. Once homeowners, home builders, and home designs get sick of one, they move onto the next and that’s exactly what we are starting to see in our most recent customer’s selections. Trends are slowly pulling away from gray and heading more in the direction of taupe. And we don’t mind one bit.

Here are a few recently finished and aesthetically pleasing homes finished in our new-old friend: taupe.
