With these homes you may see quite a bit of overlap with manor style, gothic revival style, and tudor revival style, however unlike these other styles where you have a bit more wiggle room when it comes to stone style, the style of stone is quite specific for castle-like homes.  

Square and rectangular styles are the most common with these homes. And the grout style for the stone is either dry-stacked or has an over-grout, and no where in between. 

Chopped natural limestones or limestone and sandstone blends are very typical with these homes.
