Emerald Homes, The Josephine, was another parade home that featured our stone and fireplace products on both the interior and exterior. And we think this modern meets transitional style home was yet another showstopper at this year’s Utah Valley Parade of Homes.
The home presented a beautiful blend of style, shape, texture, and pattern, as well as a gorgeous spectrum and mixture of neutral colors and contrast. The exterior displays hardie, stucco, stone, wood, and metal products for a unique blend of organic natural textures with other traditional siding materials. It also uses traditional or transitional gables in the architecture but also incorporates more flat roof lines to get a more modernized feel. Here’s a mini tour of this home’s exterior:
The stone they chose is from our Boral Cultured Stone line, called the Talus Hewn Stone. This stone is very neutral in color, having a subtle blend of beige, light grey, dark charcoal, and brown. It gives more of a light taupe coloring when seen in large scale applications.
The stone was laid in a custom application style, where it was both drystacked and coursed in its full size variety. This application style gives a very contemporary modern feel to whatever space it’s used in/on.
On this interior of this project, they used the exact same stone and application style on the fireplace as they did on the exterior. They chose a more modern linear style fireplace unit and paired it with dark floating shelves and a matching mantel, and black and white artwork for contrast and interest. The fireplace created the perfect emphasis and focal point this space needed.
The back patio of the project also featured some masonry work. This home tied in the stone texture all the way around the entire home and from the outside to in. This helped every inch of the home flow seamlessly and harmoniously.
